    Default First Amendment

This is one of the few prefaces you'll see me post in regards to my own writing.

I wrote this on October 14th, 2001 ... barely a month after the tragedy THE WORLD experienced as thousands lost their lives in the World Trade Center attack at the hands of misguided religious zealots.

The inspiration for this piece was the anger a simple comment of mine caused. I said "The U.S. isn't the only victim in the 9-11 attack. Don't let Bush and his cronies convince you that this was an act of war, it was an act of hatred against what the U.S. has come to stand for, nothing more, nothing less."

I lost a very good friend that night, simply because I chose to speak from my heart.

    ****************
    First Amendment

I heard a phrase in a song recently
That went something along these lines
    America is great because we
Can all say what's on our minds

I nodded my head with the crowd
My heart nearly bursting with pride
But soon a soft voice became very loud
That voice I have deep inside

I'm not free to speak my mind
When my thoughts go against the grain
If I dare to speak out I often find
I'm treated with contempt and disdain

There's so much I'm not allowed to say
Like Picasso couldn't paint very well
Or that it's not a choice to be gay
Or that there is no such thing as Hell

Or that women should be able to choose
To have an abortion, we've no right to judge
Or that the way we sneer and abuse
Is the reason Bin Laden holds a grudge

Or that our government is wrong
    Or football players are overpaid
Or that I like looking at women in thongs
Or the bed we sleep in is one we made

No, I think the truth of the matter
Is that America once was truly great
But amid the incessant cash register clatter
We've lost our vision along the way

Touched on some good subjects on this. Always takes something tragic for us to dig deep.

I felt these bars the most

No, I think the truth of the matter
Is that America once was truly great
But amid the incessant cash register clatter
We've lost our vision along the way
Yes, America was great when founded and Washington started us off. Now with the American dollar and commerce is so easy with paypal, ebay and the internet. Yes, we have lost our vision. The governmetn is so focused on terrorists and middle eastern war when the terrorists is our own government right here on US soil.

Exactly. We need look no further than the White House or the nearest corporate office building to find terrorists.

    Thanks for getting it.

I think terrorists were created by the CIA and the US government to put fear into the American ppl. So when they do dumb shyt and blame it on the "terrorists" we won't question their actions like the middle east mess.

One thing missing would be a bit about what patriatism really is;the defence of ones country from a corupt government. A lot of people today don't get that at all. There are straight up more Treasonous people around thanPeople practicing partiotism-and alot don't even know.
Sad But True. Light at the end of the tunnle is that people are waking up though-still it may just be too slow-all we can do is act-and watch the process flow. Keep up the good work bro.

    Thanks and ditto ...

Waving a flag is not patriotism.
Blind support of the president is not patriotism.
Sending food and gifts to the troops is not patriotism.
Bragging about the greatness of ones country is not patriotism.

I'll cut the list short right there ... if one has to ask "what is patriotism?" ... one will never get it, even if I were to enlighten them.

I will clue y'all in a little, though ... sit quietly in a dim room free of all distractions and just let your mind ponder the question. If you have a soul at all, the answer will come to you.

We are all born with the innate ability to know what is right and wrong but that ability is pushed down by our environments. Only shedding ourselves of all we were taught about right and wrong will allow us to really know what is right and what is wrong.

We've been taught to fear ... do what Mom and Dad say or you'll get a spanking ... get good grades or you'll end up being a janitor ... don't cry in public or you'll be made fun of ... do what your boss says or you'll get fired ... be who your significant other wants you to be or he/she will leave you ... the list goes on and on.

I say stop living in fear ... stop reacting to fear. Live life like it was meant to be lived, without fear, without denying yourself the utter and total joy that can be achieved simply by living as YOUR CONSCIENCE dictates.

I'm not Wiccan, but their credo is mine ... "An' it harm none, do as you will."

That's what the poem is about and that is what my life is about. I strive to live my life with honor and integrity and I hope that my movements in this world and the words that I write will simply make people think.

    imma say it like this

    "Dont believe everything you hear"

    they tell me

"to believe it when I see it"

    I say

"truth is in the eye of the beholder"

    they say

"trust your government, and hate thy enemy":

    Im claimin

"I hate everybody equally" and like easy said "........... and fuck you if you dont like it"

    so imma cosign my beliefs.........................

if we agree, thats coincidence, not nature.

    and Imma keep yellin

    "Fuck the Police"

All it means is I dont care what they tell me to do, cause my experience is, aint nobody proud of your achievements,.... fact is the better you do, the more they hate you. Just do you, and only you. And the better off you are, the more haters you attract, jealousy breeds envy, its a simple fact. And dont start me on patriotism Thats a term made up to make people feell bad for not getting killed in the big boys club, house games. aka world events aka whatever the fuck is making them more money in Iraq right now.......

Just get ready for the Amero boys and girls, and protect your nuts, cause word on the streets is that, population is getting to big with assholes,.......... do you know what im saying?,,,,, do ya?

amen and move on ... life is what you make it and if that's true, then MAKE it what you want it to be. If you can't shape the world around you, shape yourself and let the world make of it what it will. I assure you it is possible to make significant change by quietly being what you envision the rest of humanity being.

I'm going to borrow and often use a quote from you PDP ... "If we agree, that's coincidence, not nature." It sums up my belief that we are all unique in every aspect of our existence and nothing we do need be a result of anything anyone else has done.
