Favre Traded To Jets

New York Jet fans rejoice. Brett Favre is coming to New York.

They gave up a conditional draft pick for him. Pretty interesting trade. It's going to be Favre, Pennington, and Clemons.

Well, this is how that draft pick breaks down:

4th Round - Green Bay automatically gets this, regardless of what Favre does.
3rd Round - He plays 50% of the snaps.
2nd Round - 70% snaps + playoffs.
1st Round - 90% snaps + Super Bowl appearance.

Green Bay will most likely get a 3rd rounder out of it. I doubt that the Jets will make the playoffs, but it is possible.

A Super Bowl is out of the question.

Chad Pennington was released by the Jets today, which wasn't a surprised considering that the addition of Favre gave them five Quarterbacks on their roster.

Green Bay Is Going to lose a lot of fans because they wanted sum sorry QB to take farves place. I hope farve goes on a hot streak in NY

Rodgers should have a nice season. I think Favre has a chance to have a nice season as well. Will they make the playoffs? Probably not. I predict that they will finish third in their division (New England, Buffalo, New York, Miami).

Well the Packers also passed up on Aaron Brooks and Craig Nall, one guy who has had a decent career and the other who would probably do wonderful things if given the opportunity to do so.

In related news, Pennington signed a two year deal worth 11.5 million with the Dolphins today. I'm expecting him to become the de facto starter for the 'Fins. That's probably the best thing that could happen for Chad Pennington.

Well it just shows you that the Packers have a great eye for talent. Look at some of their pickups.

Ryan Grant, Greg Jennings, their offensive line, Mason Crosby, et cetera. They've been great at selecting talent for a while and I'm sure that Rodgers is another good decision that they made.
