The Dark Knight

ok since i probably see more movies than anyone on this board, i've decided to do a weekly review of a movie that i like in a random order....this week as it is the end of the week i have chosen "The Dark Knight"...which is the biggest summer blockbuster...and is bringing a lot of cash

the movie series directed christopher nolan is a darker more accurate depiction of the comic book and graphic novel series than previous attempts by tim burton

the first in the series (batman begins) was a action packed background story about bruce wayne that goes into exactly how he became batman

so naturally in the second film they introduce batmans biggest nemesis "The Joker" as played by heath ledger...and let me be the first to say, heath set the bar higher than anyone did before him (see ceaser romero, mark hamill, and jack nicholson), ledger really stole the show in this one, but he isn't entirely why this movie is so good.

it has what the other super hero movies of this summer lacked, it had the dialog that was missing from the incredible hulk, it had the believable twists that hancock lacked, and finally it didn't have to rely on one actor like ironman did...the writing was brilliant, the camera work was well done, and the performances were all really good

overall this movie is the movie of the summer if not the year

I have to agree! I went to see this film yesterday and it completely blew me away...everything from the cinematography to the story was as near perfect as you will find anywhere. The acting was absolutely superb and the late Heath Ledger should probably have some kind of award for his role as the Joker......it was actually very hard to believe he was anyone BUT the joker...he's gonna be missed even more now, what a waste!

Anyway...I'm just adding my little bit...anyone else been to see it yet?
