Mods - If this post belongs in another section, please don't hesitate to move it. The post that made me decide to do this is in this section, so this is where I posted. Thanx.

Hey kids,
I've decided to add an Urban section at
PeaceWork Music Net for the sole purpose of selling mixtapes. These can be actual mixtapes, collections of your blendz or remixes or original albums.
The way PWMN works (always has and always will) is a no out-of-pocket expense way to get your albums online and available to the entire world. We're an on-demand distributor, which means we manufacture and ship the cds as they are ordered. You don't need to send us anything but the master cd and your artwork along with the
agreement and
schedule. If you don't have artwork, we'll do that for you as well for a ridiculously low fee which will be retained from your earnings, again, no out-of-pocket cost.
You need to understand up front that we do NOT promote music, we distribute it. Promotion rests entirely with you. We provide the "home" for your albums where you send folks to purchase them. We take the orders, manufacture and ship the orders, then pay you according to the method you choose when you sign up.
Another thing that you need to understand is you have to be 18 or older or have a parent or gaurdian sign the
agreement and
schedule.
Right now the website is undergoing some major work and we'll be launching the new site hopefully in January, but possibly as late as May. When the new site launches it will be cleaner and slicker and have a lot of new features including mp3 downloads, artist accounts where you can check your stats and make adjustments to your page and a whole slew of other improvements. Now is a very good time to sign up.
If you'd like to take a peek at the
test site, feel free, but keep in mind this is only a test and all the links aren't working. It will let you see how it's going to look, though.
If you're interested, you can
read the details and if you still have questions or comments, feel free to pm me.
Another major perk of signing up with us is you can order as many copies of your cd as you wish for $3.15 each plus shipping. That's even if you only want 1 cd. There is no minimum order and those are retail-ready, professionally manufactured and shrink-wrapped cds.
Now for the money part. We split the sale price with you. Our half pays for the manufacturing and maintenance, your half goes in your pocket. You decide the sale price, but I strongly urge you to consider our
New Deal program for a bit of extra onsite promotion.
Speaking of onsite promotion, I've set aside May as this sections "special" month and will call it May Mashup Madness. During that month the main page will only display albums from this section and the Sizzling Sounds Showcase will be an album from this section.
Your participation will determine the success of this section. If enough people send in material, the section will have plenty to choose from and receive more return visits. If only a few sign up, it's going to look a little sparse.
We only have one DJ distributing through us now and he's got 25 albums, so in order to balance out just his cds, we'll need at least a hundred others.
So don't be shy. I hope to be hearing from you soon.
Peace
Oops ...
I got so caught up in the details I forgot to mention why I extended this offer.
Another thread in this section is a several-page commentary on what is right and wrong with the hip-hop genre. I've felt for quite some time that hip-hop is like a teenager rebelling against the establishment and like any teenager rebelling against the establishment there comes a time when they become more self-absobed. This is where hip-hop is now, totally self-absorbed and focusing on the baser nature. Things like sex, drugs, money, violence, etc. I have faith that like most teens that are self-absorbed, they eventually become aware enough of their surroundings to actually attempt to make change through education rather than misinformation and violence. I believe hip-hop will slowly establish itself as a valid and honorable genre in the music scene. This is my little way of ensuring the voice is heard even during this violent transitional period.
