Whats so great about Pro Tools?

This question has just been in the back of my mind. Theres all kinds of vst's and programs out there. Is it the buzz that people are making about it or is there really something thats in the program that no other has? Can it be something special with hardware compatibility. I keep coming to think that I don't need Pro Tools and its not necessary because I have pretty much everything I need in a program.

There's nothin special about PT.
Just because its the industry standard, everybody thinks they have to have it.
I mean its good to know like 5 different programs, but PT is just like any other DAW.
But its good to know it, in case u wanna go in a big studio to record.
U dont wanna look like a dumb fuck there, lol.

BECAUSE IT'S industry standard WHEN U RECORD IN PROTOOLS U GET THE BEST OUT OF YOUR AUDIO NOW IF U HAVE A SHITEY MIC DENE IT WONT

The reason so many people use it is compatibility, for example, if you son't have the expertise or the abillity to do it your self, you can ship your beat off to a bigger studio for final mastering and it will be easy to modify becasue they big guys all use P.T. software. It allows the beat to be fully examaineable and lucidly trancient-and little changes can be made easialy without disturbing the beat.

This said I don't think its the best Soft ware out there pro tools, cubase, w.h.y. is allrelitive its the person manipulting the shit that makes it.

Recording, editing, sequencing software that around 75% of the industry use that was a rough estimate lol.

I might give it a try if its that damn good lol. Isnt' there something that is needed to run Pro Tools?

you need a piece of digi design hardware to run PT (ie. an mbox or 003, etc..) with that being said.. i've said this a million times in my studio as well as others.. PT isn't NEEDED it's the industry standard for recording in HD just like if you work with film you use avid to edit (same company) but its about what you do yourself that makes the program work... all you need is patience and the talent to record and edit in whatever DAW it is that makes you comfortable.. personally i think PT is a waste of money.. all you really need for good quality recordings and mixes is something like Audition or cubase and the likes.. its more about the mic and pre-amp and what vst's you're using.

And that's it right there. I don't see a reason why not to have Pro Tools. You can send an artist the pro tools session, he puts vocals into the session, you take that same session to another musician for a guitar solo or whatever, take the final session to a mixing engineer to fine tune it to perfection. I hated Pro Tools at first because my computer was too slow and it wouldn't run properly. I love it, now. Especial with the use of Beat Detective, which is not the best, but I'm satisfied with it. I love the new drag a loop function.

pro tools is essentially for recording audio...not making beats...

when it comes to recording all i hear is pro tools or digital performer...

I got protools and it gives excellent quality.

Cats say protools is like sum kind of masterin shit....for ya beats...but justblaze uses it so it muss be gud lol

Industry standard and the massive amount of plug-ins that are supported.

Although now there's a lot of companies that make plug-ins that work with a lot different programs. Just find what works for you.
