Im trying to make a Scott storch stab/hit thats drops on the 1 count.....what vst would you say can have the sound plus the attack on it that emulates the scott storch stab...

man...u dont need a vst to create a stab...jus use some good orchestra instruments and stab them all on tha same octave...add a wierd effect at a low volume, and thats a perfect stab to me.

wat's tha deal wit vst... like wat are they..
wat they do....
While i been producin i havent used any vst's(least i don't think so)
and they come out aight when i'm done with em.....

VST's are plugins.
Samplers, synths all come in VSTs

i was confused too when i first started usin em...if u got fruityloops...thats all vsts are...theyre plugins. when u use fl keys, or fruity reverb, those are all vsts.

so when u download more of em and install em itz like havin more synth plugins or fx to use...

Thought i would give you a lil more info. These were started in the late 90's.

VST = Virtual Studio Technology, These are usually reverbs,delays,etc.

VSTI = Virtual Studio Technology Instrument - These are synths,oscillators, etc.
These were both made by Steinberg.


DXI = Direct X Instrument - Same thing as a VSTI but in Microsoft Direct X code.
Started by Sonar.

Now things are kinda mixed up, If your computer doesn't have good cpu power and alot of ram then you cant fully enjoy them. I should know i have alot of em and my computer is ass.

Yea thats y i made so many sampled beats, I started taking advantage of the freeze track feature in Project 5 and ableton tho.

New Computer... Im gettin a new computer @ the end of this week for a couple of G's fully upgraded,I figured i'd jus go as big so i dont worry about a slow ass computer in the future.

hahaha, yea, i jus got an external hard drive...:D
what i do is when reason starts sayin too slow to play song...
ill jus record tha loops of and instrument into an rex file then
play da loop wit dr. rex... then delete them combinators or w/e
it's mainly tha combinators usin lotta cpu to me ime...

damn man u doin too much work lol if u exportin a loop then puttin it right back in lol get a good computer first and foremost....save up for that b4 u get anything else....cause a good computer is more important then anything else...i mean damn u cant b makin beats like that lol

Lol i had to do that in fruityloops a few times but FL really not to good with cpu, reason is alot better it barley goes down, Yea saving for a new one would be the thing to do. You'll do things alot faster you will want to work more and longer on a beat, and less frustration.

Yea... lol
but i had 120 to get a 320 gig hd.. i thought it was worth it....
plus i needed it... my samplesn refills n shit were takin up lotta space on tha
comp hard drive...

yea.. ill def get a faster comp when i can.. lol
