I think it just may be your computer, ive used FL a couple times (im not good but ived used it lol) but i have never gotten any bad lag or lag at all.

sometimes it lags when i'm using vst's, usually its only because the vst's I use require more RAM than my pc has but with more RAM it wouldn't lag at all

FL7 for a quick beat or idea, Cubase SX3 if I'm doin some proper shit.
Cubase SX3 and Adobe Audition for recording.
Audition for chopping samples.

i use fl 7 and a cabinet of vst's to make the beats. for recording vocals i use cubase sx3 and waves mercury bundle. and i also use a whole lot of other vsts like antares auto tune but those are strictly for tracking.

i use fl studio 7 for beats and vsts.

use adobe audition 3 for chopping and cuts.

use reaper for volume control vsts as well.

and vdj for mixing tracks.

Great thread...


I LOVE acidpro 6.0... it's the bread and butter.

I have 2 mk1200 technics with a pmc06.

Serato Final Scratch and then a maudio firewire solo to record...

Overall, i'm loving my setup :D

i produce for aotp i use pro-tools but i use physical equipment...korg, moog voyager, mpc, i even use a real violin and a real grand piano that i record in pro-tools but im in canada right now and i dont have my equipment with me so can someone tell me what vst's i can use until i get home cuz its a must that i make a beat everyday regardless how its done
