Adobe Audition/Cool Edit, Recycle or Zero X beat slicer.

It depends I like to manually chop everything most of the time, but it depends on what kind of sampled beat its gonna be.

I would use Adobe Audition/Cool Edit for my chops most of the time because I don't sample in 1 key I sample in octaves, I like to have some chops at different frequencies so they mix better. Or just put different chops on with different effects in the mixer. That's why I don't always go for the rex type samples.

If im gonna use the keys or pads for a premiere type beat most likely ill use Recycle or zero x.

Sound Forge. It's the best no-nonsense program out there for audio editing without the extra bloat that Audition and other programs have.

Audacity to cut out the general bit I want, then Recycle to slice it up.
