you dont NEED it, but it is something thats useful to have. the USB Midi is really so u could make beats with it on FL instead of using your Computer Keyboard/ i dont think u NEED a drum kit machine either but it is something thats useful and doesnt hurt getting.

Theres a member here named RedJack and he makes some of the hottest crunk beats ive ever heard and i think he doesnt use a Midi either

get a program and learn it......takes days if not weeks to fully learn a program .....after this start making drum loops and little by little add some melodies ......if you want to skip on learning the program then your only hurtin yourself ...... fl is very user friendly ....learn the playlist{sequencer} this is where you draw all your patterns you just mADE ...... the step sequncer is where you draw in your notes..... and the piano roll is a more intricate place to draw in more notes...... basically you make loops and then paste them together ... now if you learn this then you will be able to move on to things like programin and recording instruments like guitar and bass..... or maybe kickin the studio booth door by accident and you discovered that it got recorded...you load it up and tweak the sound and voila a brand new kick drum sound

i use all the programs i can get ...
