Default synthesizer Help Needed - 07-01-2008, 10:34 PM

Here is my situation. I'm currently looking for a retro synthesizer that can meet these requirements:

- Produce that classic G-Funk sound (Bass, Sine, the works).
- Does not have to be a major brand.
- Should be able to buy one used for under $250.

Anyone have any ideas on what I should look at? I've looked at some Moog's, but many of those are out of my price range. I've also thought about getting a classic Roland, but I'm unsure if they will produce the G-Funk phat sound that I require.

ur gonna wanna go check out ebay or craigslist but even with $250 ur not gonna find anything but toy keyboards like a casio. i would look into vintage keyboards like an Ensoniq ASR or a synth u can load whatever sounds u might be looking for without taking up much memory u might also just wanna look into synth racks which is like the sounds without the keyboard

^Vintage Synth Explorer

some good synths are the roland jp 8080 (not the 8000, 8080 has more voices and the nord lead 2 (or maybe the 1) but those are out of your price range (like $600-800 used).
