Thread: SoundClick Producers Biting!?

    Default SoundClick Producers Biting!?

Yo whats good ppl, so i was browsing through SC the other day, and I couldn't help but realize all of the similar sounding beats that were being made. Now when I mean similar, I don't mean by "Dirty South type beats" or "Club sounding beats". I'm talkin about straight up jacking other peoples styles.. now I know that it's business, and you have to cater to the profitable market, but It's almost like there is no shame in just straight up copying somebodies style. Thats just my two cents, anybody agree?

I used to think that the top 10 producers on the soudclick charts were all the same person and he made different sounclick pages to sell more beats because all of the beats sound exactly alike,

It's not really jacking, they all just seem to use the same beat layouts like droping at a certain time right before the intro goes into the verse or hook of the beat. Then they just do them on the rest. Pretty much the same underbelly or drums & thrn different melodies and instruments. I see it as them all using the same "layout" and changing it up a lil bit. I mean I can make a "Team Hitz" type beat too by simply listening to one vybe beat & listen to the drops and layout of the beat and change it to make it mine...then boom. I got me a top 10 hit on soundclick lmao.

I think the same could be said about any artform. Picaso said, good artists imitate, the best artists steel.

There is no beat jacking. Think about it. When you want to make a beat, do you randomly come up with chords people never heard of? No. We are able to make music based of all the music we have ever heard in our lives. If we hear a beat or chord that we like. Naturally it will be in our music because thats all we know. Its just a different interpretation of it. Does that make any sense?

yeah I get what you mean and I agree to an extend. There are still people that "bite" a lot more, and just copy what's hot... but when you think about it (I'll speak for myself) even tho I feel like I make "original" beats, without copying what's hot, and trying to have my own style, I'm not inventing anything either... like you said, I "re-interpret" ideas that have been done before... so it's hard to tell who's really original. I guess it's a matter of "respecting yourself" and not bite other people's style on purpose, and trying to push the enveloppe as much as you can... but yeah, that's an interesting debate

by the way, I hit "thanks" by accident, I wanted to hit "quote"... anyways, I still thank you lol

yea there's ALOT of JACKING going on.
Alot of them have SAME beats..
meaning Same chords, same melodies.. some small changes and changes in drum work.

And it is purposely. They won't steal a top 100 track.
But when it's a less known beat then they tend to ALOT.

I've heard over 25 beats on various pages, that are remakes of vybes old beats with small changes. But same chords, melodics.

EVERYONE wants to be like them.
I don't know why. They don't make all that much.
They do make cake compared to most people yes. And A TON more than other online producers because everyone else are nobodies.

But in terms of where they could be it's nothing at all.
Vybe can be signed. Flash beats, O, Kid Flash.

People steal their tracks cuz they know that's what artists want.
I see big names stealing from them non stop.

I could check almost anybody's page on sc and find a beat similar to one of those top name people. People use their style drums, their style leads, their style drops, their style raises.
Their sounds. You can still be hot using YOUR own style of everything.

    Look at flash beats.
Top 3 easily. Uses his UNIQUE sounds, style, leads. Drums are a big part too.
He does what he likes. And he did it until he was good. Everyone feels his tracks now.

Just cuz your not hot when your starting out doesn't mean you need to swag jack other producers. Stay in your own style and you'll eventually get really good at it.

But to say there's NO beat jacking is insane.
I've even heard a big name who i wont mention use a vybe beat.. that he posted tagless.
    Beat was sold.
He posted it with some added bg leads.
And people love him for it even though it's not his style what so ever.

Just saying the talk about it is old because it's a constant thing that will always happen.

You know its bad when a majority of them use the same vybe uplift transition before the beat drops lol. Thats basically like handing your beat to him when ppl recognize that on most of his stuff. I remember ppl kept doing that when the runners first came out.

You were referring to all the way turned up?

Its way to often I notice stuff like this lol.

LMAO ABM pulled out the bushido..
Wouldn't of ever noticed the melodics were stolen to that beat.
That was the one beat by vybe that made me start to feel he was a dope producer. wow.

Yea all the way turnt up was one of them.
But actually vybe made his first and was stolen by someone.
But there's a few big names on sc that have stolen vybes old beats too.
    took full credit.
    and sold the tracks.

I knew O sampled techno and stuff like this bushido..
    but i didn't know vybe.

haha How the hell did you find that?

Lol yo I was actually playing the game before I left out for college in February I grabbed a few emulators and games, so I took out the Bushido and let it sit at that screen for a while then I'm like wait that sounds familiar.

Team Hitz or wut ever they go by now killed midi flipping tho, you don't think johnny came up with all that 80's stuff on his own? Sometimes if you listen to the songs main melody their really just hooks from classic songs and the words are exchanged with instruments like leads. I guess its whatever work. I don't knock em for it, there's really no difference as in sampling and im guessing they don't pay shit for it cuz ppl usually don't recognize the end product.

Yea i've noticed that he has sampled a few tracks..
I think JJ's older stuff and O's were sampled tracks ALOT more often.

All their club style tracks are usually techno samples.

haha but it's really no big deal i guess
