For The Record, Picasso nor Mozart ever said that... i think some wise guy made it up.

But thats an interesting way to look at things!

Its like the saying "Be GOOD or Be Good at IT" (in reference to crime)

I also used to think most of these guys were the same pool of producers with various pages. But honestly, I find myself using the "lil wayne" structure for a beat too...

I just make sure my range of sounds and instruments are alot different than those guys, and put even more detail into some mixes so i stand away from the crowd. But I can do every popular style..some of those guys just do dirty south.

Either you specialize or be special...

ITs nothing to worry about..what yours..you will get.

Its the CHEATING on the charts thats out of hand..lol

    Side Note:

About interpolation...most if not all RADIO joints are interpolated.

Why spend all those hours in a studio coming up with a good tune, when you have access to DJs and Composers with records of RARE vintage joints with good emotion already in it.

It isnt what people want to hear...but your "favorite" producer is a beat jacker...all across the board....ive studied this game long enough to realize and accept that.

To the point where some of my best selling joints contain some element from a previous HIT song.

I like being original personally, but I don't have a problem with it.

If they outright jack a melody then they are infringing the copyright, So....even if they did manage to get signed they'd end up having to pay most of what they make to the original composers or record labels they jacked the melodies from assuming the original composers are alive and have the money to do something about it.

Someone said it already and I'ma say it. No one wants to be original. Fuck what's being done or already done. DO YOU! In the end what you get is wonderful. Everyone teacher was once a student. Study what u like most and imitate, do it til u get it perfect. Then find something else and do the same, only this time incoporate what you know and you've created your own style. EVERYONES STYLE CAME FROM SOMEWHERE! Don't be afraid to be inspired. When you finally reached that point where your music is growing incorporate real life things into what you love. And be amazed at the things you produce. It's taken, yes, but it's still you in a sense. Especially if you can find something really dope and different to be inspired by. Inspire what's hot in there sometimes and you'll be right up there with what's hot. Hell you might even takeover. #TheBigPicture?

I don't think its so much that people don't wanna be original; it's more that they fear the criticism and financial hardships that can accompany originality.

People have a general perception that being themselves some how just isn't good enough. Often times that thought is derived from the commentary of others.

Once we love who we are and what makes us unique, we will take pride in creating genuine and unique content that we can be proud of.

There is only one man or woman that walked this earth that made music without any imitation and if i remember correctly i've stated this before...every single person has been inspired whether it be from a most recent artist or whoever invented music as we know it because at the end of the day somebody had to invent pianos and guitars and learn to play them therefore we are inspired by those people so you can't say you are 100 percent original even if you create a whole new genre because its still going to be music which was discovered by someone else who is long dead by now. Now i will say there is a difference between being inspired by music and biting styles and most people are biting styles in other words one thing is inspiration and another thing is biting. I don't understand why people bite so hard it makes no sense you just degrade yourself as an artist if you could even be called that i think also the problem is down south music sounds so alike that people probably don't know the difference between original and biting but who knows..not me.
