what program are you using. if ur using fl studio are you using loops or are you using the fruty slice. if your using a loop than thats probly why it dont fit the measurment but try time stretching hat might work

eh using fruity loops 7,, na like i get an original track trim the sections i like with audacity then import the files into fl and i just stick um in the sequencer play one of the samples and get the songs tempo and then i try put the snares..i can place them grand at the start but then they start sounding off cuz the song changes its "speed",but basicly i just wana know how i can place snares perfect on a sample that hasnt got a beat cuz with samples with beats i just place a snare on top of the samples snare and im sorted but samples with no beat is a big problem, what do you use and do??

my guess is that ur tempo isn't right if the tempo is perfect in fl then it should loop without any gaps and the snares should fit just right if they fit at first and start to sound off I would just find another creative way to chop the sample

That is the perfect reason y i still use FL Studio 4. It has feature that auto-detects the time stretch

this is what you got to do
put the whole sample in you edison and press play and then right click on the tempo gage and select the tap option as the song plays in the background you can use the key bord to get the right tempo by tappinng the tempo by useing you key bord once the tempo is to your likeing click the check and now once you play the pattern your snares should fit better

Well homie In my opinion the sounds you can get arent the best, the best is an actual live snare drum; I (with my broke self) cannot afford an actual snare drum nor can I play drums. So what I do is pick a sample with the snare already in it. If you can aford it I would suggest getting a whole drum set.

yeah its easy with a sample with drums already in it but if you play it that way your're kinda limited..but how can i record from a real drum set and how much cud it cost?i duno wud it not seem boring if you wer using the same snare in every beat?but em like ur sayin ya duno how to play drums it cant be that hard lol kick snare kick kick snare haha

Try chopping one sample into 2 samples. Try to get it as precise as you can then go into channel at the bottom you should see CRF adjust that to 1% now the sample should stop on the release of the note. Go into the piano roll, now on the top of the piano roll window click the snap to grid button and change it to none so you can freely position the note of your sample.

Do the same thing with your other sample. I usually clone that channel the sample is on then replace it with the other chop so the pitch and time is still in sync with the other. This gives you more control you might be off by a few milliseconds but your drums can cover the evidence.

Sounds like alot but it takes me about 20 seconds to get it right. Just gotta get used to it.

if your looping you need to find the 1st drum & listen for when it loops. if you have a program that lets you enable looping like Wavelab its easier.
the snare in older songs have more swing, not just programed with a drum machine on steps.
I use Reason & Recycle so when I bring a sample into Recycle & type in the bars it tells me the tempo :)
plus with Reason I can use chops on my keyboard like an MPC

I usually take out the kick/snare/bass with EQ's & other plug-in's

try usin edison. that can auto detect beats and it lets you snap to them. then just change the duration from the sample menu.

this is off topic but how do you eq out the snare? i know how to eq out the bass and kick drum in acid pro and then cover it up with my own bassline and kick drum.
