    Default Removing drums?

Anyone know how to remove drums from an audio clip? I'm chopping up on old soul sample, but I want to keep the original melody, so I need to remove (or at the very least tone down) some of the drums. I've used a few filters, but none seem to work that well. Are there any particular settings I should be using?

    Thanks.

Eq and hope you get lucky. There have been a couple situations where using the noise reduction in cool edit/adobe audtion, I was able to find a part with just the drum sounds, get a profile of it and use noise reduction to remove it (sort of)

    filter out this bass.

you can still hear the bass drums and bassline. add your own bass drums and basline and it will cover up the original bass.

now just layer some snares and hihats over the original drum. it will cover up the original drums.
