Need help concerning FL and MIDI plz help

OK, so i got this keyboard that is compatable to use MIDI, andi got FL STUDIO 7 i believe, so iv been wondering how i can actually, get a channel on FL studio where i can get on PIANO ROLL and just start playing my keyboard on whatever patch im on and have it being recorded on there through MIDI. I purchased this M AUDIO USB UNO MIDI thing, which connects to my keyboard and USB. The lights come on saying its working or its ON and everthing, iv set it up, i just dont know how to get it working good on FL STUDIO, or unlessFL studio cant do this? can someone plz let me know id really appreciate it

go into the MIDI settings in FL and under the second box that says "Input" make sure that your M Audio card is selected. Then under that box there should be a small check box that says "Enable", make sure that is lit up. That should fix it.

iv done that, but like when i go into piano roll and i start polaying my keyboard, is it supposed to automatically start adding notes to it? iv clicked on that foot symobl and tried record, and no notes or little blocks start showing up. i dont get it

Are you trying to record sound from your keyboard into FL?

yeah , i had once seen this dude i know play his roland juno g on his mac garage band, on the piano roll. and whyle he was playing the blocks were comin up the exact way he was playing them regardless if he was off a bit, and then he went back to the [iano roll when he was done to edit his notes to make it perfect without having to play it again. i was wondering if this is possible on FL studio cuz is sure is alot easier then recording everythign manual on another program then uploading to FL

MIDI is not audio.
You cannot record audio from your keyboard over MIDI.
For that you need a soundcard or audio interface.
The AUDIO OUT from your keyboard goes to the AUDIO IN on your soundcard/interface, then you can record.

hhmmm man bro, iv had GuitarCenter peeps in and out of my ear, u think u can kindly explain in simple terms what MIDI does on FL studio or what can be done with it? is there a way to record on FL studio and then alter the notes i played? like if i messed up to fix that note on piano roll?

MIDI is a form of computer data that keyboards and computers can send back and forth that turn on notes. You can write musical notes on a computer screen and the data turns notes on and off on the keyboard or sound module.
