A .sf2 file is a soundfont file, that can be used in fruityloops with the fruity soundfont player or you can just drag it from the browser to the step sequencer and then click on it and then click on the name (in fl5 it's orange)
then u can choose from other sounds.

All these sounds can be played with you're keyboard or sumething else.

in the other programs i don't know. somebody else got's 2 explain that 4 u.

If your planing to use FL5 as a tool for your melodys then thats your best bet, for melody .SF2 is the best thing since sliced bread, with soundfonts you can get a real rich sound and mold it exactly how you want it, for melody thats all i use (im still kind of a crapy producer) but they help alot. id give you the link to a place with loads of .SF2 files but the greedy assholes are chargin for them now even though the members made them all.

for fl5, but it works out, after i track my seqeunce to prootools i can now use those sf2 file from fl5 and record str8 to protools.

    Thanks for all the replys.

if any one needs asst. doing this with a slighty same set up hit me up.
