i wanna start makin beats but i havent a clue where to start

im mad in to makin my own beats but i dunno where to start if y'all could tell me wat gear or what i need to start i know a lot about tha technical side to it i played guitar for tha last 7years and i know most music theorys inside out

I started with Acid hiphop 2.0 and then branched out from there. What you'll need is a sequencing software...so something like acid, fruityloops, magix musicmaker, reason...there's some free ones too online. Then from there you want to check out VST instruments and effects. For recording your guitar and mic you'll need an interface...check out a Guitar Center or some place similar for that. M-Audio has some inexpensive starter ones...I use an m-audio fast track. But you can get started with just some sequencing software and some vsts...that's mostly what I use. Any additional stuff is up to you

ya fl is easier then reason and acid pro is good to use also there's tutorials at warbeats.com on beat making and in fl they show u certain things and you probly wanna download drum kits as well.

yea , i 2nd fruity loops, easiest to learn on and to be honest its just as good as any other software

I use Reason and FL studio....and wont change for shyt......My advice is for you too find a program that fits you.....and dont change for nothing.....learn it through and out.....

Download demos of FL Studio, Reason, Cubase, and whatever else, and see which one you like the most.
Then go from there.

1st study the art of beat making. try to study every single instrument someone use's on your favorite song. then get a program like REASON or Fruity Loops. both are very good in their own way, but always be open to use new thing's to produce.
it will take a lil while before you get the hang of it. but if you stick to it though & are will to read up on producing & do research you'll either keep doing it & get better or give up like a lot of people I know.

No matter what program you get homie it's gonna look difficult. I had no clue how to make beats. i got Reason (im on a mac) and just played with it. I had no idea what the hell i was doing, but spending most of my time on it i figured things out. there are books out there to help you with these programs. If you put the time into it, you will be able to accomplish that shit with ease. If you don't have the determination then don't even bother cause this shit can get pretty difficult.

i started with fruity loops about a year ago and now i got a mac with bootcamp because i couldn't stop using it, but I use Reason 4.0 also.. both are very good, all depends on your style of producing i guess.. Reason is like a custom studio right on the screen.. FL Studio is more user friendly but can do pretty much the same thing, it can actually do more to be honest with you. But yea.. warbeats.com will be your best friend for FruityLoops tutorials, if you cant find what your looking for there, then it must not b possible

PS.. Glad to see your starting up with music man, not the easiest road to take but if you enjoy it then you wont regret it.
