@kingj independent artists are easier to get a hold of then famous mainstream artist. most of the time it's just word of mouth with those guys. ask people what they know maybe they tell you maybe they won't. but I think we still have a thread on here somewhere that has TONS of names and emails for artists. if i come across it I'll post it

You should only produce when you have a good idea... everything else to me is just practice, which can also spark up a hit beat. I hate the clutter of beats sometimes as well. I sometimes only produce one beat per week, but in my opinion its always worth it. Being a full time producer doesn't mean that you have to constantly be producing. Spend some time writing if you write at all. Then you will start to flow with great ideas being away from the studio.

Nothing like having to run to the studio to lay something down you already know is going to be a hit!

I rather have 3 hits in 72 hours. That's where the money at making 30 tracks in 72 hours is wastin time unless their throwaways for those that dont pay

I just hit up every artist I can and ask to produce for them you're bound to stumble upon something.

I personally think its always better to have the best quality and mixes it doesn't even make sense making a whole pile of beats if you yourself don't think they are all that hot then how will others cause I'm pretty sure if you wanted to you could have made one MIND BLOWING beat in that 72 hours that would have smashed the rest of the others...just my opinion though take the time its always worth it in the end.

Actually, I scrap beats all the time. it's beats having a shit load of nonsense cluttering up and getting in the way of the hot shit. I mean, I don't usually get very far if it's a shit beat. I may use the sample for something else. Usually if I compose something from scratch and I don't like it....DELETE

I don't think that rack city is a wack beat at all. It's part of bringing hyphy back. It's minimalism through instrumentals. Not all good beats have to complex, sometimes less is more.

i think i can give you a lil help with this....why dont you try this, dont worry about making full beats, tracking out a beat is the easy part...example: all you have to worry about is the hook, thats where most if not all the sounds are playing at one time right..so on the playlist just create the hooks and mix as you go...that way you can have 15 MIXED hooks ready, then just go back in track it out into a song format, ei. "intro-hook-verse" "intro-verse-hook" "verse-hook-verse" and so on, you'll be surprised how many beats you get done in 72 hours
