Hey guys, well im a new producer and you can check out some of my stuff @ myspace.com/lyrikalbeats and i mean "new" been like only 4-5 days since ive been learning fruity loops. Only thing i have trouble is just creating a good melody you know. I have every sound/vst you can name such as "Hypersonic, Sampletank, Predator, Orchestral, Soundfonts and etc...." I have everything, its just applying those sounds and creating something! Anyways, can someone tell me the correct method of making a proper melody meaning.. how long the melody should be ( hook ) .. and other stuff. For example if i just create a outside melody for like say 5-7 bars long, and i wanted to create a "OVERLAPPED" hook over it and just add a diff layer of sound .. how would i know if the melody would go with the drums/kicks mhm. Also, just in general.. how to make a good, decent melody. Only things i always use is just make my note length .. long and just change it from high pitch to low pitch and just create a lil piano sequence over top of it and i want to learn more. What other ways do you guys make your melodies? For example length of the notes, how many notes you put in between the bars and so fourth.. Do you usually have them short, long.. patterns such as a staircase, or just like this>>
