they're ok... but id recommend somethin from m-audio... cost efficient and productive

M-Audio have no drum machines, just drum triggers. I would suggest you get a MPC 1000 shipped in, be it via ebay or e-store. Much better sound, and has USB, timestrech, all that fun stuff.

the SP-606 has timestretch, usb , and all that fun stuff. this can do more than the mpc1000.

chrome man, search google for reviews, i bet there some owners who posted detailed feed on this machine ...

well remember this is hardware and it will get outdated
like software you can always upgrade
just get a keystation or midi controller some good monitors, soundcard/audio interface and a trigger finger you should be set.
and some good sounds.

but if you like hardware better than you should go to the music store and check it out

This doesn't come near the 1000 with the new OS.

and it's suposed to be here friday (05-05-2006) (happy now)

don't worry if people use it for techno, anything can be flipped and used for whatever you want. Should be a decent piece to start on if you are just learning hardware.
