Hello my fellow producers. I have to choose between school or pursuing my dreams. Which is being a producer. And i just wanna get sum advice on whats the best thing to do. Even tho i hated school and graduated from high school a C+ student. But music has always been my passion every since I was a little kid. I played cello for nine years in my life and I always did good at. I feel like making music is the only thing im good at. What is your best advice in this situation? What would you do if you was in my shoes?

Do both, u can do a lot with a career in the long run but dreams can pass you by, take a music program at a college and do music when u can but have something to fall back on cause its a lot of broke people still trying to get a break in the music biz.

i agree with Dept. Do Both, u could take a music class in college and further ur music skills and knowledge. Maybe look into Sound Engineer so you produce music for videos games, movies etc. then move on to ur own business

im a currently goin to school for an associates in a field completely away from musik....however the college has a very cool studio with a hd pro tools system with avalons and nueman's , they give you lessons and studio time, fuck full sail musik school ...... this class cost 20 a semester, compare that to the thousands that they milk you for ....i want a job that is in demand and pays great .......that is not hip hop ..... we must stay in this for the love of the musik

yea, go to college. my college had a music marketin' major but i was goin' to minor in music so that i could take all of their music engineerin' classes. but i changed my mind after i saw how many b.s. music classes i had to take like singin' (and i can't sing) so i ended up just takin' the piano classes.

all community schools sux. the BIGGEST reason to go to community school is to take your basics and then transfer them to a four-year university (make sure you take classes that will transfer). this way, you pay half the price for the basics at a community college compared to a 4 year university.

i didn't go to a community college (except for one class) 'cause i didn't like it there (i had started to at a 4 year college). but i would have saved ALOT of money if i would have taken more classes at the community college.

Dont let anyone determine your future. If your passion is to be a producer go get it then. Its like everybody programmed to do the same shit, pass highschool, go to college, get a career, make 100 stacks a year, retire when their 65. Im not trying to wonder what if ,20 years from now. But truthfully, if you had to ask that question you should probably just go to college.

while everybody is in college 4-5 years i'll be grindin turning my dreams into my reality.
