I use a combination of FL Studio, and Sonar 4 Producers Edition. This is a really good combination, has good quality ect ect. I also use reason from time to time but FL 5 is much easier. FL studio has more tutorials and stuff so you can jump straight into it (PM me for good tutorials). FL Studio is also easier to find on the internet than reason.

I only use Sonar to sequence my tracks together, it is compatible with lots of vst's and shit so it gives you a pro sounding...sound. )

Hope this helps, PM me for a crack to FL Studio 5, no money required it's like a 3 second upload, i can also get you Sonar, as for reason i still don't have it, it's impossible to find but i would recommend you use FL to start with.

So PM me and i'll get you lots of tutorials and FL 5. ;)

    Again i hope this helped.

I have used Fruity Loops, Acid Pro, and Logic Pro 7... right now i use mostly Logic so i can import with my keyboard, synth, tables, and guitars

for beginners i would say use FL Studio...great program and has lots of available tutorials to help you out.

you wanna no what i think....

    http://crazypellas.net/thread965.html

either you have it or you dont....making beats is something that should just come to you...you shouldn't be looking for programs that is going to make the process easier because the easier the program is to use the less of the production is actually yours abd by that i mean the easier the program is the more likely u only have to paste samples on top of one another and thats not producin that is jus puttin some samples that sound good together together calling it a beat when u are not really learning anything about production

you need to learn the formula of making music...you need to learn time sigs temp da metronome all of that shit...i say all new beat makers to advanced makers should use fruity loops...i have used acid i like acid cakewalk and fruity loops but since i have limted hardware i use fruity loops

i say fuck all those sample happy programs and download a whole bunch of 1 shots strings synths drumz and all tha sounds in the world from gun shots vocals samples and just fuck wit em and learn how to use 1 program then teach yourself othershit...your going to overwelm yourself

i think you should first sit down and learn how to make drum beats...fuck wit the different shit on fruity loops...imma post a tutrial for u and shit maybe da one i already posted is still here...

thats the truth, im new to this shit and still got alot to learn and id rather learn the shit for later than just paste shit together. shes right about learning the drum beat first because thats the structure that you want to work around and build off of(at least thats what i do). if u got any advice on mellody that would be helpfull, thats where i struggle. i can do the basic drum beat and bass without a problem but i have a hard time making my beats sound complete, like theres something always missing. by the way i use FL Studio.

give me ur e-mail address..i will send u a beat and then i will send u da fruity loops file (so u can open the actual beat construction on fruity loops) and u can see what types of things i do to formulate melodies because i can show u easier then i can tell u

first u find a sound (if your not using musical hardware such as pianos and keyboards) and u fuck with the different sounds it can make...u reverse it see what that sounds like...u click all over the place on the grid of that sample see what types of sounds it makes...use edit programs such as cool edit (adobe audtion) to chop up ur samples and sounds to give them another type of sound...use your piano roll on fruity loops *right click then go view in piano roll* the sample will open up in the form of a keyboard and u can play in notes it helps if u no what ur doing wit tha piano or u can just play what sounds good

i have issues sometimes with this too thats why i use a lot of vocals and one shots kinda to form something outta nothin

fuck with scratches...tommy drumz and bells...bells are really easy to learn how to form melodies with because for some reason they jus have good reverb and they vibe nice depending your tempo

    hope dat helps
