1. I believe that most of the active individuals at this forum work off of a Windows environment, not a Macintosh environment.

2. You definably need to read some tutorials into GarageBand. If you don't know the basic features of the software, then you shouldn't try to make beats with it. Take the time, learn the software, and THEN worry about making beats.

Take the time to study a few GarageBand books. Find some individuals that use the software to help you out with specifics (no one can help you in making a "beat", that is something that you'll have to do on your own once you learn the different elements of the software). It's going to take a while before you create something worthwhile, so good luck. :)
