Creating "Hustler's Ambition"

I was bored one night and I checked Crazypellas and I saw that someone posted the original track to 50 Cent's "Hustler's Ambition," produced by B-Money. The original track is "I Need You" by Frankie Beverly and Maze. I studied "Hustler's Ambition" and then studied "I Need You" and in a matter of minutes I found the samples that I needed to recreate this track. I will help with the areas to cut, because some may need to be blended.

Part 1: Slicing Samples w/ Adobe Audition

At about 1:20, we find a hit with a guitar.

Save that item in a folder and bring it up later...

At about 2:12, we find two of our samples. We find the loop (which will be messed with) and the loop with a crash hit.

At 2:31, we find the intro.

Save it.. also will be tweaked.

(REMEMBER: WHEN SLICING THE LOOP HIT AND THE INTRO, HIT THE LOOP BUTTON [INFINITE BUTTON] AND MAE SURE THAT THEY HAVE A NICE FLOWING LOOP)

Part 2: Contorting Samples

Contorting Intro:
Bring up the intro and the hit w/ the guitar to your files side bar.
Copy the whole intro and paste it in front of itself. Similar to this:

Next, at 21 seconds, apply silence to the remaining seconds after 21.

Now, bring up the hit with guitar and copy it to your clipboard.
Paste the hit a little before you added the silence.

That's it for the intro.

Contorting Loops:
Now when you save this loop, do save as, not just save. Why? Because the loop with the crash hit is already a loop in itself.

At about 1.5 seconds, copy the rhythm guitar, but just until it hits about three seconds. Then paste it to replace the crash hit.

Make sure it sounds smooth, so it doesnt sound like you edited it. And don't forget to do save as another file not save.

Finally, we are to the fruity loops part.

Part 3: Fruityloops Requirements

Use the following sounds to have the closest replication:

Download - SD2710_bd

Dance - DNC_Clap_4

Vintage - VT_HandClap_2

HipHop - HIP_Hat_3

You can experiment with kicks and clapsif you would like to find out somethign better.

Make the BPM 88.

Part 4: Drumbeat

The drumbeat is a very simple drumbeat. Make it 8 beats. This is what it'll look like:

Q: Why is there so many claps?
A: I layered them so that it would be a louder clap.

This it one pattern. This is the basic loop. The crash hit loop has the same drum pattern, so it should not be difficult to transfer it to another pattern.

Part 5: Adding Intro/Loops

Make the intro it's own pattern. do not change the beats, keep it at 4.
Add the two loops to two different patterns w/ drumbeats.

Now, it's time to change the pitch.

Open the channel settings for all the samples.

You will find the multiplicator (MUL) under the Time stretching. Set it to 88% (As seen in picture)

Part 6: Playlist

Let the intro go for 8 bars. On that 8th bar, have a layer that has a clap on the 4th to last. Something like this:

This is something I forgot to do, so remember that, because this IS apart of the song.

Though this may not be like the actual beat, I added the crash hit every 40 beats, as seen in this picture:

well i got a version i made.its not perfect cuz i culde'nt follow tha tutorial exactly.but it sounds kind of like it.wit differnt kicks.i forgot bout tha claps tho.its on my soundclick
