Default cpu load - 17-03-2007, 06:54 PM

im using fl studio 7 with 6 instruments and some drums (with no fx) and while the song is playing the cpu load bar is at like 60
after i start adding eq and stuff it goes up to over 80 and fl gets real slow.. does anyone have any solutions besides getting a better pc?

My solution is get off that FL and get a program to do beats on like Ableton live 6, Cubase Sx 3, or Project 5. The reason why I say that is because of the freeze track feature you can turn all your notes into a audio file and still play them. That takes a load off the cpu. I have the same problem but thats more of a hardware problem. Im gonna get a new comp by the end of the month for that reason.

Abethlon uses more resources than FL
Cubase once it freezes it probably will never come back by itself.

^^^ Yes thats true about Ableton using more resources but I always freeze things right after I play them. I actually think its more of a ram thing. Cubase I haven't been using that for so long but I never had a problem with unfreezing. The CPU use always gets out of control once you start using alot of vsts tho. Same with any other program.

Shits embarrassing but Im running on a AMD Processor and 240 MB's of ram I could never fully enjoy these vsts like I want to.

Im getting a new up to date laptop at the end of the month tho with

a Intel Core Duo T2500 (2.0 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2 Cache
and 4 GB's of RAM. I would of had it already but it got delayed.

j_f The piano roll thing is simular but the step sequencer is diffrent but if you get used to those little markers at the top you'll be straight.

Joker Its a lil bit over a G

Bassically its this but the the ram is higher and the cpu is better on this 1 I might even go 4 this 1 not sure yet.
