Can U Use ProTools M-Powered Without Ilok

I need to know if i can use protools m-powered without the ilok. (Yes, i have the Firewire 410.) has anyone out there done this? if so, how? i downloaded the program but have not unzipped all the files and tried it yet because i heard this cannot be done. I'll buy an ilok if i can download an authorization for free onto it. Someone help. Peace

i was waitin' to see if anybody else could answer your question.

i've used the mbox on my friend's pc and my other friend also has protools on his laptop. with protools le, you have to connect the mbox to the pc/laptop's usb port just to open up the software (i tried it on the laptop without the mbox bein' connected just to see what protools looks like. this was before my other friend got protools and i had a chance to record some vocals with it).

so i'm guessin' that protools would have some sort of hardware/software requirement in order to use m-audio protools. so i would guess that connection would be m-audio hardware and the ilok hardware.

the m-audio website doesn't tell you anything about ilok

but you can email m-audio and they will get back to you. i e-mailed them a question i had about the firewire 410 and they answered my question for me. this is the e-mail that i sent my question too.

the answer is yes, you can run it without ilock

h20 released a driver that makes the computer think an ilok is in there

^i was wonderin' if somebody would try and crack it.
