I use Sonar 6 PE it has everything I want of course I have tons of my own plugins tho. I think all you need is a good ass mic and a nice pre amp. The last album I recorded sounded real good with out any effects. Still used them later on tho.

I use Cubase SX 3...the most for recording..it workz real good wit FL..I have ProTools too..cuz it is the standerd in most pro studios..I like to use Ableton live sometimes too..they all do the same thing pretty much.. the old mbox workz wit all these programs..

I work with Adobe Audition 2.0, cuz the PC we record at is not the "beast" for software like Cubase SX3 or Nuendo3 or Logic etc.

But, Audition has this not so quality drivers in it for vocal recordings, or any other audio input signal you record In, so the best program with the best drivers for quality audio signal is Cubase. If you got the good PC at your studio, don't mess with the semi-pro software, use the professional software for your tracks.

But hey, if You got the great sense for music and you love to spend hours and hours with your track, you can pull out some great sound even with not so great gear.
