Well, I dont know wat tha best is, but theres alot of beat makers (real name DAW- Digital Audio Workstation)
Theres Reason, Pro Tools, Cubase, Sonar, Sony Acid, FL Studio, and a lot more.
If ur just starting out, go wit FL Studio, it's tha easiest 2 learn n use. ;)

the best is diffrent for all, somebody may find fl real good and somebody else may find reason real good, u have to decide for ur self.

i only have a stand alone pc, can i make tunes with this setup? ive downloaded fruity loops.

it all depends one what type of beats you make also

i use a midi based program, and there's guys that just use samples and chop em up. Its the style of the beats that also determines what program you use.

Don't stop at one program...always look to expand...but yeah start with fruityloops or acid if you're looking for ease of use

but pro tools is good for a home based studio

there r no best ones.get as much as u can.
