I can't answer the 1st question but Quote: |
In your opinion, how much would you pay for one of mine?
| It is how much you value your work, not how much people would pay for them.. u set ur prices if people don't like them they can go elsewhere imo Quote: |

| Send a CD with your beats to your local copyright office with $45 check I think... take a look at U.S. Copyright Office - Frequently Asked Questions | |

I would sell em for how much work you think you put in them. Some people got a steady cash flow from the beats or work thats outside of music. Some could be handed 50 dollars for a beat and be happy others know they put hard work in and expect alot more. Its kinda hard to make a price for someone else. What I can say tho. If you sell em cheap more ppl would attempt to buy ya shit. If you sell em for alot depending how ya buzz is ppl will still buy them for alot theres always the wealthy people who have money. | |

Don't let muthafuckas try to say your shit ain't worth what you're trying to get for it. NEVER. So many will try to do that and make you throw away hot shit for cheap or free. In most cases don't do that.
What kind of leasing terms are you planning on having?

You could lease it however you want, as long as both parties (you and the person leasing) agree to the terms. You could lease it to them unexclusively and then lease it to someone else too...That's how I've done it.

All I can say is set your price and stand on it. Don't shake a price unless the opportunity is worth it. If an industry ----- wants to buy your beats, don't lower the price, but give them a good ass deal on a package, work with them. You want to make money with your music and you want it to prosper. If you come in the game selling dirt cheap beats, you're going to attract a bunch of penny pinchers who the price will never be low enough for regardless of what you charge. They're easily influenced and float around here and there at will, they won't make good solid customers who will keep food on the table. You want the guys who are out here doing their thing, putting bar codes on their albums and doing shows, people who actually make a living off of their music. To them a few houndred dollars for a beat is an investment. To one of these lil hood -----s out here doing their little bullshit mixtape, that's money lost, they have nothing going on in their life that provides opportunity.
People appreciate things more when they pay a nice amount for it, get away from the hand out crowd who thinks everything should just come to them for free. Their mind is stuck in the wise tales all our elders have told us our whole life in regards to our talent. They feel if they keep perfecting their craft and get good at it, God will just put all these people in front of them who will just donate their life and time to them an make put them up on top. Shit doesn't work like that, you may come across some generous people here and there, but the only time we're gonna see miracles happen is when we perform them our selves.
So on that note, get your beats together, think of a marketing strategy, and stick to your guns with the price. Also start moving around in an atmosphere where music is business rather than a hobby and let your face be seen. If you're going to give away free beats or beats for dirt, that would be the environment to make that sacrifice, at least you know it's going to be used and performed, rather than on some mix tape that the few people who bought it are only listening to looking for a good laugh.

Depends on the artist that wants the beat... I Mean, If Saigon would like to have my beat, i'll ask more then 20 dollar lol
If some 10th rank rapper would want it, I would ask less..
Somethin' like that
