An mpc and a keyboard

I'm going to be getting an mpc1000 and I needed to know If when I hook a keyboard up to It, if it will record sounds that I make with my keyboard with the drum patterns I make. Or would I have to get more equipment to put it all together. thanks. Tryin to get out of computer sequencing, so i need to find out what all I need to have the sounds all together with equipment.

I'm just lookin for some tips on what's good to buy to set up a home studio to make beats. I want to have everything I make transfered to my computer. So can someone help me out with which mixers or software is good to get to work with mpc's and keyboards.
