Yea its a mixture of both. Its kinda harder to tell whats sampled because they looped samples more instead of chopping them up and making something different from a few samples rather than a 1 or 2 repeated loops. Usually when u chop your samples its more visible than looping.

Yes His main producer was johnny J.He sampled a lot and interpolated a lot of old school.Read the credits on the cd books

You would be surprised to see how many beats have samples when they sound composed.
They can just replay the shit with session musicians, and switch it up a lil bit, and they don't have to clear the sample.
