    Default a&r or managers

I was wondering if producer should have manager or a&r since they mY have more knowledge of sending out beats and getting them nootice. No one reallyrespondin to my email even when i personalize them. If ao what a&r people are good to use or am i saying it wrong or is it publicist?

I wouldn't bother with it. I would say you don't need any manager or A&R until you actually have too much on your plate to handle. You shouldn't be trying to get a manager just because you want to expand your music to a wider audience and getting it heard. You should focus on building your fan base while improving your skills. I really don't know how a producer would need a manager to be honest, unless by manager you mean having a label behind you.

But when I think of someone who is a manager I think of someone who is there to help you stay in line of the projects you need to get done before deadlines and will make sure you have everything you need for tours, even book your flights ahead of time so you don't have to worry about anything other then working on and performing your music.

You've just got to keep trying SoKaLm... remember, these people are receiving hundreds of emails a day with someone trying to sell them beats. The March artist looking for beats thread has had almost 2,000 views already so you can imagine the number of emails they are receiving.

I agree with what Excrucial said.

Yeah, i feel ya on that. Most people are probably sending beat to the feature. While i'll be sending to everyone just to get some kind of a resume going. I think i just hype myself up too much and get dissapointed in the process. But if i figure out how i can record myself making beats i can gain more exposure..... I post my beat on youtube, but i think beat making video are more better.

Yeah, creating beat making videos could be something worthwhile doing.

You could use something like Camtasia (paid) or Camstudio (free) to record the videos.

There are just so many producers, and labels and such get SO many emails... probably more emails these days than real demo tapes back in the day - and that was already a ton. So they get tons x 10, now.

Most of them will also tell you that getting out from behind the computer and meeting real people is crucial.

Don't be discouraged, though. I don't know how long you've been at this, but it can take a long time before you catch that break. Like years. Just keep perfecting your craft so you can be 1000% ready when that day does come.
