1. Not ALL programs run on Linux with Wine. Wine has compatibility issues with many Windows programs.
2. I assumed that they were talking about the MS program because that's another name that is used for the MS product in certain circles, especially the last few versions of the program due to extensive changes by MS in the latest version.
3. Since there is a program called "Media Player Classic" (I've never heard of it), I downloaded the latest version from the SourceForge website and looked at the source. I stand by my opinion of VLC being the best out of the two. The source is cleaner, the program is more efficient, and it bears no resemblance to the true Media Player Classic of the MS days.
Besides, the last official update to Media Player Classic was in 2007. That's pretty damn sad, am I right?
