Media Player Classic or VLC Media Player

Which one do you think is better?

WMP Classic hands down. The only reason I have VLC is cuz some torents have weird ass file types lol

VLC. It's open source and it's not made by those fucktards at MS. It supports more formats than WMP and you won't need to get 100 codecs to play your videos.

If that wasn't good enough, VLC works on Linux. :)

All programs run on linux with wine.

1. Not ALL programs run on Linux with Wine. Wine has compatibility issues with many Windows programs.

2. I assumed that they were talking about the MS program because that's another name that is used for the MS product in certain circles, especially the last few versions of the program due to extensive changes by MS in the latest version.

3. Since there is a program called "Media Player Classic" (I've never heard of it), I downloaded the latest version from the SourceForge website and looked at the source. I stand by my opinion of VLC being the best out of the two. The source is cleaner, the program is more efficient, and it bears no resemblance to the true Media Player Classic of the MS days.

Besides, the last official update to Media Player Classic was in 2007. That's pretty damn sad, am I right?

My vote is vlc. Vlc you can tune into a bunch of radio station podcasts, as well as videos. Maybe cp radio might make it up there on day. You can rip dvds on it even the ones with copy protection. Its possible to set up movies on demand. It doesn't use as many resources, like already mention you don't need to find a bunch of codecs to watch what you wanna watch. Alot of ppl sleep on it because the gui looks simple but theres more options in vlc than what wmp gives you. Alot of ppl dont know the half of what it does and all the features. The skins could be better tho.
