the reason why there are no programs to create studio quality acapellas is because acapellas are actually copywritten music just as well as tha actual song so in all actuality the are not suppose to be duplicated re created or used in any other way without permission from the artist and lable.

Some people have figured out how to do it...and some people can make good sounding acapellas but like i said if your true to your art then be true to it and support it the correct way it will take you a lot further..aint no shortcutz in this

ayo my bad for takin my time on this

Ok, a shitload of people ask me how the hell i make my acapellas. Im sick of it, so every release im puttin this guide to making acapellas in.
Major props to Antuaan Max of Babygrande Forums for hookin me up with this info and hosting the plugins.

    first your gonna need:

    fruity loops

    acid

the knockout plugin to fruity loops: http://members.aol.com/antwuanmax/acapella/knockout.zip

the acapella template for fruity loops: http://members.aol.com/antwuanmax/ac...a_template.flp

    1) Install FL if you dont have it
2)open the files (instrumental and song) in acid
    3) align frequencies until they match exactly. if you are using files ripped from different locations, then the instrumental may be a different BPM, so you may have to play with the BPM.

If you are new to acid, your gonna have to right click the file's rectangle (left side of the screen), then properties>general tab>track type> beatmapped. adjust the BPM until it is exact. listen to it after to make sure its right

Then make sure that the files start at the same time (go to where you want the acapella to start, right click that spot on the instrumental and original song, then split at cursor. cut the shit to the left of this point. then select all and drag as far left as possible.

next, solo the original song (the exclamation point). Then go to file>render as. under "save as type" choose .mp3. under "template" choose 192 (or higher if you want).

then unsolo the original and solo the instrumental. repeat and render

    4) now you have to add the template and install the plugin into fruity loops.

4a) for the acapella_template, you need to DL the file through Mozila Firefox, cause IE will take you to the source code. Once you have the file, go to this folder:

    C:>Program Files>Image-Line>FLStudio#>Data>Projects>Templates

create a folder in there named exactly what the template is called. if you saved it as "acapella_template" name the folder "acapella_template". Move the template file to this folder

4b) now to install the Knockout plugin.

download and unzip the .rar file, then drag the plugin onto the desktop.

    Open this folder:

    C:\Program Files\Image-Line\FLStudio5\Plugins\VST

drag the file into the folder.

Open fruity loops, Then go to the Channels Menu>Add One>More....

in the box that pops up, you should see a refresh button at the bottom. click it then choose fast scan. Now look for Kn0ck0ut in the VST plugins section and place a check next to it. exit fruity loops and then restart fruity loops.

    5) go to File>Templates> acapella_template (or whatever you named it).

You should see boxes that say "vocals" and "instrumental". A box should also pop up that says "Kn0ck0ut (FX 2)" if you do not see the "kn0ck0ut" box, make sure you did step 4b right.

    6) Right Click the red "Vocals" box, and click "load sample". go to the File of the actual song that you rendered in acid and click open.

then right click the "Instrumental" box and do the same thing except go to the instrumental file you rendered.

Now, Click Play. you should hear some of the beat, but mostly the acapella. play around with the two knobs by the boxes and the knobs on the "kn0ck0ut" plugin until you get the best sound.

    7) Go to file>export>MP3 file. name it whatever you wanna name it and then click save. a box should pop up. set the bit rate, then uncheck the boxes in the "options" category. now click start.

    have fun

also, when i made that guide i didnt realize that if you can loop it, then it comes out better than using an instrumental from a different location. for example, if you downloaded the full single w/ instrumental, then just use that. but if you, say, got the instrumental off soulseek, then looping if possible will come out better

names a few software, just search around .. or request it in the request section ;)

alright, check it out, this is my first diy pella..

i couldn't get the instrumental out the background fully, but when i drop a beat on top, it drowns it out.. take a listen and let me know if you got something that can help me clean it up some more

sounds pretty good, what method did you use? thats pretty much what most will come out like, the only downside is you cant cut the beat on whatever you throw it on. the chorus sounds real good too man

yo whats the bpm of this?

thanks. i flipped the instrumental and used the phase cancellation method. i found the crossfader to be useful with diy pellas. try setting it more on the instrumental side and you won't hear the beat from the pella as much

my dj prog says the bpm is about 105 on the instrumental. i never count the bpm myself, i just let things play out and see if they could go together.

yeah, that chorus is dope. that's what i wanted the most from this pella
