With a thread title like that bet it made you think we were shutting down, but nope, nothing like that in-fact it's a very positive thing.. intrigued? read on ...

I have been thinking of changing the main focus of this forum. Before I decide to go ahead (or not) with my plans I thought it would be best to get the views and thoughts of YOU (the members), because you are the ones that make this place what it is. Anyway onto my plans...

I am wanting to change the forum so that it is more focused on talent, (i.e. DJ's, Producers, MC's, Graphic Artists & Writers), instead of the main focus being downloads. I know this forum is built on downloads, so they would not be going away.

I believe doing this will increase activity and at the same time participation in the forums. There is a difference between the two ;);
Activity - More visitors
Participation - More threads/posts

If you want me to go through with the plans, this is what I will do:

• Make developing of this my top priority.
  I will spend every second/minute/hour of my time working on:
  • Finishing the Artists / DJs / Producers / Graphic Artists / Writers site. Complete integration with here.
  • Completing new/fresh/professional styles. Allowing you to choose your preferred colors so to speak. Styles for DJ's, Producers, MC's, Graphic Artists and Writers.
  • Re-Writing the tutorial system to include better features. (Search, create a thread in the tutorials forum for discussion on it - to mention a couple)
  • Constantly working on new features/improving current features.
• Getting contests running regularly.
• Getting CP Mixtapes organised while contests are running and vice versa, i.e. get contests going while a mixtape isn't being organised.

What would be done on the completion of the style's would be re-organising the forums, re-naming some forums, get rid of forums which aren't used, merge some forums. So a complete new look in other words :).

I am not saying that if you don't like my plans the features won't be done. They would be, so please don't think that I am trying to blackmail you to like my plans, this is open for discussion, and I want to hear EVERYONE's views/thoughts on it.

I would work on it more if people like this plan because I feel it would be more use to the forum if the forum is mainly focused on the talent side of things, instead of the download side.


I want to emphasize again this will not mean the end of downloads.

I think thats a good idea. Are you talkin about each artist having their own page? The only thing I have to say I would hate to see is,if the site changed too much. Like you said before the main focus on the site now is d/l's. I know you said you wouldnt stop downloads but if it changed alot it might be a good thing but it could also throw alot of people off who are here just for that reason. But as an artist I like the idea. Good luck......:)

Go for it man it sounds like a really good idea. As you said, at present the main focus of the website is downloads which means the majority of people are going to come to the site, grab what they need and go off to work with it, and thats as far as the line goes for some users. If the new main focus is talent then the way users work on the site should start to go round in a circle more instead of a start to finish straight line ya get me? Some people might find that if crazypellas is soley a download site they might feel the need to get a pella here and post their mix on another site for example. There's a million reasons why your plan could work out in the best interests of everyone. There will still be people who are only interested in the downloads but its a logical theory that more people will participate in other activities if they are more in their faces, ie. new forum sections, contests, sections specified to artists areas of expertise. A little more personalisation for each user will probably help build a bigger community on the whole.

yeah plus if people stop coming here when the main focus changes to what we all are about anywayz...nine times outta ten they are a leecher anywayz and we dont need them on our fourm
