Talent Points System Changed [Updated 05/09/2007]

As those of you who use the Talent forums are aware there is a points system in place which requires you to have 3 points before you can post your work, this hasn't changed, what has changed is the way that you receive your points.

How has it changed?
Well, before you used to get 1 point for just replying to the thread, now you have to reply with an undisclosed amount of characters to receive 1 point, this amount will remain undisclosed until I feel there is a reason to disclose it. You still receive 2 points for replying with 200 characters or more, so you know that the undisclosed amount is less that 200 characters.

Why has it been changed?
It has been changed to hopefully give users more detailed feedback, and because the old system was being abused by a small minority of people.

If people don't like this change and the Talent forums do become less active, then it will be reverted back to the old way, you shouldn't really notice a difference because the undisclosed amount is done in the majority of replies I have checked in the Talent forums.

Super Moderators also now have the ability to remove Talent Points.

Talent Points is now enabled in the Graphics forum

This shouldnt be to hard for people as well, as 200 chars is basically saying, 2 sentences, and thats just touching on some proper feedback ish. This is a good move and I say that as a active member in the talent section, as well as a staff member. People cant sleep on talent in the talent section, for all you know they could be the next dude rockin the charts.

that is the point im going to try to get people giving more feedback and more feedback that means something and so that people that refuse to give a decent reply dont get tha luxury of posting

i hope it is i hope people start getting better replies and more people start posting their stuff

im going to see about every new person signing up getting at least 2 talent points and seeing if the point system could be applied in graphic design as well

Well CP, if your gonna enable talent points in the graphics section. I saw a thread about graphics request. Someone was advertising themself to do graphics at a cost i dont remember the link. Anyways u wud have to stop threads like that because das gonna make people reply about that getting graphics done and no graphics being commented on and people receiving points....

I think the thread you're refering to is one that Chrome posted, that thread was closed and archived a while (not so long) back i think , but threads that are people advertising to do graphics would be moved to the pomote forums I guess now

and if a person wants to waste their talent post to post up a advertisement i think you should be able to take advantage of a free talent point by replying cause da dude is an idiot lol
