I have setup a subscription service for the Direct Download forums, in order to help cover server maintenance (i.e. pay server bills, increase Hard Drives sizes, increase RAM, get better processor, increase bandwidth e.t.c.).

The Direct Download service has been free for just over 5 months now, over that period with the increasing number of downloads, the server load and network load has increased slightly, nothing too much to worry about.

In order for us to improve our service (i.e. do/get the things mentioned above) I have introduced this subscription service, the fee's are very reasonable I believe.

Here are the prices: (I have used a currency converter, so the prices are all equal to the USD price at the time of this post)
USD = United States Dollar
AUD = Australian Dollar
CAD = Canadian Dollar
1 Month: $3 (USD) | £1.50 | €2.25 | $3.55 (AUD) | $3.22 (CAD)
3 Months: $8 (USD) | £4.00 | €5.97 | $9.44 (AUD) | $8.59 (CAD)
6 Months: $16 (USD) | £8.00 | €11.94 | $18.88 (AUD) | 17.19 (AUD)
9 Months: $24 (USD) | £12.00 | €17.91 | $28.33 (AUD) | $25.78 (CAD)
12 Months: $32 (USD) | £24.00 | €23.89 | $37.77 (AUD) | $34.37 (CAD)
(these are recurring subscriptions, you can cancel them at any time, refunds will NOT be issued, without a valid reason, provided that you haven't downloaded anything)

At the moment you can only subscribe using PayPal, that means you can also pay using your credit/debit card without signing up to PayPal as well. If you wish for me to add another payment option or you wish to pay another way. Please contact me and I will try and arrange something.

If you subscribe you also get to browse the site with NO ADS.

Just use the drop down menu and select how long you want to subscribe for. The more months you subscribe the more you are saving.

You can still view the Direct Download forums without subscribing but you aren't able to access the threads.

*NOTE 1* Respected Members/Elite Artists/Staff still have access to the Direct Download Forums, but still have Ads. If you have donated and are a member of one of these groups I have not figured out a way to allow you to browse the site ad free, I will try to figure something out, but I'm sure you don't really mind

*NOTE 2*
If you are a member of the groups above, do NOT go through the subscription process as your usergroup will be changed and you wont have access to the hidden forums you currently have access to.

*NOTE 3*
People who have donated do NOT need to go through the subscription process, as they still have access to the Direct Download forums, and will do for the time being without having to pay the fee's. Depending on how much you donated you will have access to the direct download forums for the time specified above, if you donated less than the amounts above you will still have access to the direct download forums for 1 Month.

*NOTE 4*
This is just for the direct download forums, the normal download forums are still accessible by all users, I am not planning on setting up the same sort of system for the normal download forums.

As for staff still having to browse with ads, that's not a problem at all. I hardly even notice them really...

i agree i dont notice them... good system CP, hopefully this will help out more with keeping the site up

I think so. But I think we need to upload more to the direct download sections, which I think would bring in more people that would be willing to pay...
