Shooting Dawson College

MONTREAL:: Four people were killed and at least 16 were injured when two gunmen attacked a college in downtown Montreal, the RDI network quoted unofficial sources as saying.

“There are said to be... four dead and 16 wounded. This remains to be confirmed. This comes from unofficial sources,” an RDI reporter said.

It was not clear whether the death toll included the two gunmen, who government sources said had also died.

One of the gunmen appeared to have committed suicide while the other was shot by police.

Police were unable to immediately provide details on the gunshots fired inside Dawson College, in downtown Montreal, police spokeswoman Melanie Lajoie said.

According to LCN, an armed man entered the school cafeteria shortly before 1 pm and began shooting.

LCN said four people were injured, but the television network said it could not immediately confirm the details.


Television images showed frightened students running as they were evacuated from the building and one person being carried out on a stretcher.

Alexandra Nadeau, a student interviewed by LCN, said she heard between eight and 10 gunshots and at least one injured had been evacuated.

I was watching this on Fox news

At least 2 people are dead, one 20 year old girl and the shooter, who got shot by the cops then turned the gun on himself, the shooter had a automatic rifle and was like the "trenchcoat style". Theres like 16 people in all who got shot. I live in Montreal and know alot of people who go to that school....its pretty wild man cuz things like that dont happen often around here...

On Fox they said it's the 3rd school shooting incident in Montreal in 16 years, or something like that.

Yea there was two in the 80's, one that was like to do with a personal matter, and another where some crazy kid shot 14 women at a engineering school in '89.

I couldn't imagine that happening over here, I think we've just had one incident Dunblane in March 1996,

our gun laws are very strict, so not much people have guns, I'm not sure of the laws in Canada, so I can't really comment

Damn, over here guns are all over the place, we might as well not even have gun laws here because anybody who wants one can get one almost any time they want,legaly or otherwise, it's just a matter of having the cash, so was it 2 gun men or just one? i heard there could have been up to 4 or 5 when i was watching on the news, depending on the channel.

There was rumours that their was more than one gun man, while the story was live, but in the end it just turned out to be 1 gun man

Naah only one gunman....kid was a really fucked up kid, he was really into violence and guns and shit, ill attach a link that profiles him. He was a memeber on this vampire freak site (thats the name of the site vampirefreaks.com) and all over the site he had pics of him with his random ghats and shit. He even said on the site that way way he wanted to die was either "like romeo and juliet or in a hail of gunfire. Gun laws in canada require you to register your guns and there is about 7 million guns in canada, last year 2 million people applied for gun permits, 18 thousand people were denied, so do the math, it isnt that hard to get a ghat here. I dont think the problem lies on the gun laws, although i dont think it would hurt doing psychological evaulations on people who apply for guns. I think the problem lies in society as a whole. The kid wasnt bullied or none of that shit, but he was an outcast....all his friends have said he was the type that never fit in and didnt like being around people. I think that with urban societies like today, people lose touch with reality because everyone is so superficial and distant from one another. Proof of that matter is one of the witness' said that b4 this guy start shoootin up the place he was just walkin near the mall that is accross the street from the school and he had the ghat out in plain view and no on esaid a word. to me that isnt normal... I think things are going to get worse before they get better because the more technology grows in our lives, the more distance we become from one another....its like the movie crash....its just a crying shame he had to purposely kill the one girl who has died thus far... from what i heard from people who were there, he shot her then her friends asked him to get her medical attention, he replied by saying "oh shes not dead yet" then he shot her again in the head, then remarked "now she is" the girl was a first year student, 18 yr old beautiful girl and its jsut sad that instead of reachin out to someone to listen he had to do some stupid ass shit like this...

This shit is fucked up man, why you gonna take out your anger and hate on other people with bullets man, when I had beef with somebody in high school, I would go up to that person, drop the books and show them the number 1 meal without frys, ya dig, a gun is only to be used in retaliation to retaliation of a gun, only pussys shoot helpless people.

Im from Canada, but im westcoast Canada ya dig, where we live we all chill, aint none of this emo and goth shit you see on myspace, we all just out for the common goal ya feel me, this east coast (montreal is mostly french speaking canadians) must be on some other shit.
