BBC NEWS | Europe | Austria's right hails poll result
Apparently, 29% of the Austrian voters elected to go with one of the far-right parties, the The Freedom Party or the Alliance for the Future of Austria Party. Heinz-Christian Strache, leader of the Freedom Party, has connections to the National Socialist Party (Nazi for you laymen).
His party is predicted to receive 35 seats in Parliament. As far as leadership of the country goes, neither party has the majority required, so multiple parties will need to combine forces. Unlike American politics, I understand that this is common practice in Europe.
With that being said, I have to give a big congratulations to the people of Austria. There is no better way to show discontent with your country than to vote for Fascism.
What does this mean for everyone else? Well, it's unlikely that we have a new Nazi party in the works but I think the idea of Fascism could spread to other EU countries that are currently suffering.
