Icon5 What are some good plug-in synths?

I've been using the same stock synths on logic, i think exhausted every synth on there. What are some good plug-in synths that are similar or better than the popular keyboard synthesizers like the: Yamaha motif, Korg Triton, And Roland Phantom.

You should try out the Plug Sound plugs from Ultimate Sound Bank, then checkout Sample Tank 2 from IK Multimedia

You can also just Google free VST instruments and find a host of free stuff to try (both Mac & PC), however, you have to download them and try them yourself to see if you like them. I use my Plug Sound and Sample Tank plugs a lot mixed with the hot sounds from Reasons!

As a matter of fact the last 8 or so albums I produced were 98% all virtual instruments!!

There's a lot on the market, I found the Computer Music mag top 10 is pretty accurate actually, should give you some ideas on commercial ones:

    Part 1

    Part 2

Also for free ones (and FX), this is pretty recent:

    Hope that helps ;)

spectrasonics plugins sound better in my opinion than any keyboard like the motif because those sounds are so thin and dry but trillian and omnisynth sounds are warm as hell and are fat and sound more analog

If I was you, I would look up autogun, you can get it for free (just google it) and it has something like 1billion presets.
