Default Static in keyboard recordings due to USB.. Need assistance CP

So I've got a new issue and the last issue i suspect..
When i record into Cubase from my Korg Microstation i get a static in the recording.. At first i thought the problem were the cables until today that i found the actual culprit..
It's the USB.. I have a USB running out of the Korg Microstation into my Dell Inspiron 560 (Windows 7)..
It's not the USB cable because I've tried 2 other different cables and still no change..
When i remove the USB cable out of the keyboard the static disappears but i doubt it's the keyboard because even when i switch off the keyboard and leave the USB inside the keyboard USB port the static still continues..
I should also note.. I believe the static im hearing is from inside my computer since when i roll my mouse wheel i can hear a static-ish noise everytime i roll it..
I need to get this sorted out.. Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you CP

Could you actually record a video of the problem showing the differences? I know it sounds weird, but it could actually be the audio cables. Are they 1/4 or 1/4 balanced (TRS). XLR and TRS are both balanced wires, basically they have a grounded component in their make up to combat static. 1/4 unbalanced on the other hand isn't, which makes it even more prone to static.

Being that its to and from your Korg I would assume it's definitely not an XLR cable. So the way to tell between 1/4 balanced and unbalanced is a little second (usually black) ring closer towards the cable, check out the picture below.

The top would be the balanced wire, while the bottom without the extra ring is unbalanced. If you have an unbalanced 1/4 I would suggest trying a balanced one before. My wire preference is LiveWire because they offer lifetime warrenties on their cables and their pretty cheap in comparison with companies like Monster (which does make a good product, but over priced)

Though, if you do have balanced (which either way you really should) another idea is the position of your Korg. When you plug in the USB are you coincidently pushing it back on the desk or anything? I've had this problem so many times, moving gear and power wires crossing or laying directly on audio cables. The balanced cables are less prone to it, but a direct contact could do it. If power and audio wires have to cross, it's best to make them cross horizontal/vertical like a plus sign with a little space in between them so they don't actually touch.

You could test this method by unfortunately dismantling your setup and laying everything on the floor and control all the wires and positioning. If it clears you have to be more concise with your assembly on your desk.

My last idea for now would be to check the interface. Is the static there with a regular mic? How about another device that uses the same exact wires (turntable, cd deck, etc.)?

    Thanks alot Lethal!
I purchased a powered usb hub and the computer static is gone but there still continues being a static in the recording that can only be heard at high volume.. Is this normal or should i be expecting a staticless sound like a vst?

It depends what high volume is? If it's higher than most people are going to play your music than I wouldn't worry about it. Generally speaking all audio and equipment has a signal to noise ratio. I don't know which interface you have, but cheaper made interfaces have more noise to their signal as you turn it up.

If it really bothers you, you could use a high-pass filter and make the cut-off low below your bass frequencies where the static comes in. Sometimes it works, others it doesn't. There's also RTAS/VSTs to try. Waves Restoration-X is one that I recommend trying.

Its when i got the headphone amp and interface to the max volume which is loud but its like an air and a smooth continuous static as oppose to the static i had before which were computer sounds.. Ill try that waves plugin ive been using a limiter anyway to higher the volume on the sounds and no static to be heard! Thanks again lethal

No problem! If it still concerns you later just export it so I could hear how loud it is.
