Default Warren G Preps New Album - 21-09-2005, 03:46 PM

Warren G. is preparing to release his first solo project in four years titled In The Mid-Nite Hour.

The album will drop in October on Hiwino/Lightyear/WEA and features collaborations with Mike Jones, Bishop LaMont, B Real, Snoop Dogg and Raphael Saadiq.

"A lot of things go on in the midnight hour," Warren G stated about his album. "I stayed up in the midnight hour making this record. I touch on everything and it's bundled in one big ball of funk."

The first single is the politically charged "Get U Down,” which tackles the issues between the black and brown community.

The single has spawned so much attention that a part two of the single featuring Snoop and Ice Cube has been released to address the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

"A lot of people aren't really touching on what's going on and they gotta wake up," Warren G said of the song's political overtones.

The video for "Get U Down Part 2" is set to shoot in California later this month. Kevin Hunter will direct and the video will feature appearances by Snoop, Ice Cube and B Real.

The second video set for release will be the single " In Case Some S**t Go Down" which will be directed by Paul Hunter.

In The Mid-Nite Hour hits stores October 11th.
