Compton rapper The Game says he will not change the name of his forthcoming Hurricane sneaker line in the wake of the recent tragedy in the Gulf States, reports the Los Angeles Times.

However, some of the proceeds from the sale of the shoe - with a retail price
of $80 to $95 a pair - will be donated to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina, and
the name of the shoe will be left out of advertisements.

"A portion of the proceeds will go to help people who lost everything, and that
will last until the company ceases to exist or until New Orleans is 100% rebuilt," the rapper said.

He also said that the devastation has him so upset that he may consider adopting a child from the area.

"It's all I can think about when I wake up in the morning," he said.

wow that is the gayest shit ive ever heard. he knew the shoes were gunna be called that months before Katrina even happened its not his fault. and how is he suppose to advertise his kicks wen the name of em is hurricanes and there gunna drop it. what else are they gunna call em??

^^^nothing wrong with that... stack up while you can, he taking a page out of every hiphop star whos gone "big" and seems like everyone got a clothing line nowadays

and damn i know that the hurricane was bad, but theres been other very destructive its just that this one hit the biggest US port and one of the most famous cities... aint there a hockey team named Hurricanes? maybe they should change their name as well

trust me its older white people and even older black people there were more blacks affected byt the hurricane than any other race
