Hot off the press this week Jennifer Hudson finds a new man named Oscar, Fantasia is set to star in The Color Purple, Oprah's back in the hot seat and Ray J goes from Kim Kardashian to Whitney Houston to Lil' Kim...WTF!

Jennifer Hudson's deferred dream--the night America voted her off "America Idol"--was well worth the wait.

On February 25, 2007 she became only the 3rd African-American woman in history to win an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. Previous winners include Hattie McDaniel in 1939 for Gone With The Wind and Whoopi Goldberg in 1991 for Ghost.

Hudson received high praises for her role as Effie in Dreamgirls-- a role she ironically beat out "American Idol"-winner Fantasia for.

And speaking of Fantasia... Oprah Winfrey has just announced that Fantasia will play Celie in her Broadway musical, The Color Purple. The musical, scored by world renowned composer and producer Quincy Jones, will feature the "American Idol" winner for six weeks beginning April 10.

Oprah Winfrey just launched her leadership academy in South Africa for young girls. The $40 Million institution gives young African girls an opportunity to receive one of the most highly valued things to both the continent of Africa and Oprah herself - an education.

The American public has championed O's actions but like with anything, there are a few crabs in the barrel that get at Oprah for not making such a contribution to the American education system, the very same system in which she established the foundation to her billion dollar empire.

Oprah retorted by saying she does give domestically, she just doesn't publicize it. She went on to say that American kids are more concerned with the new xBox where the typical African child is obsessed with improving the human condition.

But while you were laughing at Foxy Brown's claims of police brutality, we were wondering if Janet Jackson starring in the new Tyler Perry flick is a good look, 'cause we are certain Bobby Brown getting arrested for not paying child support is most definitely a hood look.



A Massachusetts judge ordered that Bobby Brown be held in jail until he pays $19,000 in late child support payments and court fees.

As SOHH previously reported, Brown was arrested and jailed in Massachusetts on Sunday (February 25) for failing to make a court appearance and pay child support fines.

According to the Boston Globe, Brown's lawyer, Phaedra Parks revealed that she is working to get the money, but it's unlikely that it will happen before tomorrow morning.

"He's upset, but he's going to be fine," Parks stated. "Bobby's a big boy. No one wants to be locked up."

Brown is being held at the Norfolk County House of Correction while attorneys try to figure out whether he is financially capable of supporting the two teenaged children he fathered in the past with former girlfriend Kim Ward.

Brown has a history of missed child support payments, and was jailed in March 2004 for one day after missing several payments, which he later paid.
