age and the music that you are subjected to due to your age me myself i am 21 I grew up on shit like Jodicie(sp) tevin camble immature mc lyte yoyo monie love puffy biggie shit like that wu tang first came out in my lifetime as well as 2pac however alot or earlier shit
i listen to is based on my personal intrest and i went and looked for it..
So my question to you is how old are you and what do you perfer to listen to
Do you even no who artist like Rakim Kool G Rap Heltha Skletha Capadonna Killer Bs fuckin Danna Dane dougie fresh biz markie denise williams boogie down productions roxane shante and the never ending list of old schoolers
Do you listen to what you listen to based on radio, television and what you are subjected to. Or Do you honestly dig the music you hear on the radio on a personal life..
Im intrested in this fact so let me know how old are you and what do you listen to on the regular basis no matter what it is hip-hop r&b whatever

good thread, i wanna see the results of this shit too
im 20, you already know how i do. nas, old mobb deep, wu tang, dogg pound, dre, cube, etc.
i do bump alot of old shit like rakim, kane, bdp, run dmc, young mc/tone loc, the list goes on. but i dont listen to that old shit because of radio, that was me, myself, looking back at the past and learning the roots of hip hop.
another point i wanna bring up is this:
older heads that have seniority arent trying to educate the younger people. if a rapper throws kane on a single, and another, and another, eventually hes gonna catch some new fans. one song can change up someone's catalog, ive seen it happen.
dre can reach a hand out to rakim and throw him on his next single. then maybe when kids hear the term "paid in full", they wont think of camron.
look at all these rocker kids that listen to these wack ass bands and shit. they all rock slayer shirts and iron maiden shirts, where as you wouldnt see a little motherfucker rockin a big daddy kane shirt or a juice crew shirt. all you see is dipset dickriders in purple. smh

I'm an old head at 26
Been listenin to rap / hip hop since '89 so when i started listening it wuz ABC, Kris Kross, MC Hammer, LL Cool J
When I wuz a teen I lived in TX so I listened to alot of southern gangsta shyt like 3-6 Mafia, No Limit Records and Cash Money in their hay days from 96-98. I would still listen to my east coast like Mobb Deep, Wu, Biggie, Nas, Jay Z etc
Once I got to college I wuz pretty diverse and listened to all coasts but wuz really diggin Chi-Town.
Now I listen to alot of TX and east coast mixtapes. I love my screw. I don't really dig the shyt on the radio. Currently I'm really diggin Papoose and Saigon. I like lyracists but can slow it down too with the screw.

13, grew up on pac, BDP, Afroman, mobb deep, eminem, Dilla, Pete Rock, Bob Marley, NWA, etc.
Personally, I will listen to radio shit on occasion but normally not. Really been digging Throw Some D's. Maybe because I knew him (but it's not like we were friends or anything, just met him a few times) before he became famous?
