Question for all you graphic designers

Where do ya'll get your backgrounds from?Do u make 'em or get em off da internet?

this ? doesnt make sense... what u mean by background?

background for mixtape covers

people get them from the internet, well thats wot i do, or sometimes i jus get them from the internet and edit it like the colour and shit....

I mostly make them myself with special brushes and stuff or take parts of pictures and edit them.

or take a photo , then edit it

u can use almost everything if u edit it right or use parts of it and ...

...go crazy...

i like to use brushs insted of pics from the internet because i think if you use brushs it gives you a better way to edit the colors and such but i dont do covers i just do what ever i feel like

My way to work for covers is to start from scratch, if it's an abstract background i need, i make it, if it's a picture, i go and take it myself, i know spots for almost every kind of photos, blocks, streets, lights, basements, rows...etc. In that way, nobody can tell you that you've used somthin from the internet, that of course other designers have already used over and over again... ;)

The way i mostly do is get shit load of backgrounds from diffrent things, like i take 3 sky lines, a sunset and some space stuff or something, then i cut and erase stuff i dont want out of the pictures resize them and all and keep optimizing it as a whole with colors and brushes and there i go.

I get chrome and laidbacklunatic to do it for cp money :)

lol forreal tho, I have no photoshop skills, I only ever did one for ef dub, and it was shitty as hell lol.

If I knew what I was doing I would draw it then scan it and fuck it up from there, know what I mean

mainly use phots ive taken, street corners, walls, bricks, overlay/filter/overlay, it all depends on the style im going for....

Well, for the banners I make, I use C4Ds in combination with gradients. I suppose that most people either just use brushes (nub kinda) or manipulate stock images.

I make my backgrounds with brushes and filters, you can find stock images and alter them too.
