I figure its bout time someone opens up a thread, for the bikers amoung us. POst what bikes you riding, what bikes you wanting, why you like to ride, whatever, this is the Official Bike Thread!

I'm old school so I ride a 1983 yamaha Xt 550 right now(also I ain't rich this bike did not cost alot, and its not full of new tech gadgets I can't fix Myself.)

Phat dub needs to get out and ride more because that fool has neglected his addiction to ridding Motorcycles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea I'm a bike enthusiast, been dirt riddin' since I was lil, the bikes stuffed in the back of a shed right now so it'll be a while for I could snap a photo, But latter in the summer I have it out and I'll get one an post it up on here.

Ive ridden an old hardtail harley, Shitty lil 250 yamaha street bike, al kinds of dirtbikes, but never a sporty street bike. I say buy yamaha, kawasaki, Ktm, Mz, CanAm, suzuki, ect. but not Honda. I hate hodas, honda cars honda bikes, whatever-So, I'm biased against hondas(LOL).

:thumbup1:

lol, I just done a quick visit to the Yamaha/Honda websites and picked them 2 because it's the type of bikes I like... I would probably go for the Yamaha tho... but i'll see nearer the time...

i can't wait either... but it will be atleast 2 years (i think) before I get to ride something like that, cos we need to ride a shitty 125cc engine for 2 years before we can get anything bigger :\

Is that the law in the UK for beginner Motorcyclists? You gotta ride for 2 years on a lil' bike before you can "lawfullly/legally" ride a bigger bike? Thats fuckin wack, though its probly not as bad over there as it would be over here-from one stand point that is-sure you don't want to be ridding a "toy" around for that amount of time, this is the same everywhere, what I'm talking bout though is that over there, typically you aren't riding major distinces, where as over here we (generally speaking) do ride long distances more often. I guesse the only real positive on ridding a small bike would be that gas mileage, I'm not too sure on the Gas(should I say Petrol? ) prices over there, but I'm sure its not cheap and if it burns less gas it will be easier on your wallet!

when ur 21 u can ride any size bike, but under 21 you need to be riding a 125cc bike before u can ride any size... it is shitty... it probably cuts down on motorcycle accidents/deaths, that's probably why we have that law... I probably wouldn't be riding long distances I basically have all the shops near by and work is just 15-30mins on the bus, so it'll probably only be 5-10mins on a bike lol,

we've got petrol and diesel, not gas tho... it isn't really cheap for petrol/diesel, we're probably one of the most expensive places for it lol... yeh the smaller engine probably is better for ur wallet

Hey I gots a question:

How fast can a 750cc motorcycle go on average? I'm looking at some of Honda's cruisers for when it's time to get a permit.

That would depend on a lot of things, the vintage of the bike, the modle of the bike, ect. All 750 cc bikes will produce similar power, but they won't all have a simmilar top speed, if you want to know how fast a particular bike will go try searching the bike model and vintage with the keywords "top speed". Average top speed, and mind you this is only an educated guese here, I would think to be around 100-125 Mph.
