no he is the leader of the united states of america, there is more to the freeworld than one country lol...but congradulations to him, it's uplifting even as a canadian to witness history like this, cause the most racist country in the world has now put a minority in power...i have a lot of black friends and the humble pride they showed made me feel good for them, so black children you now have someone other than a athlete or a rapper to look up to, but now let's hope he does well in his term

History was made...a black president after all these years.
They were bumping "Changes" by 2Pac on the radio up here...turns out we were finally were ready to see a black president.

Indiana was a blue state for the first time since 1964...history making in itself.

It's agree with hof, havin someone other than an athelete or a rapper to look up to could be a good thing for black kids' futures.

I'm hopin that the reason he's prez is cuz most people saw past the whole race issue and voted for who they thought would run the country better.

Strictly from an objective point of view. Most blacks support Democrats. They say they'll vote, they might tell a few neighbors or knock on a couple doors but then they NEVER GO VOTE. Statistical fact.

John McCain said it best in his concession speech: "We (specifically while talking about his campaign) inherited the most challenged campaign in recent history". He almost couldn't win just because people always switch Democrat after 8 shitty Republican years. Sarah Palin didn't help, and while the whole terrorist/socialist thing did "fire up the base" it made all the independents think that the McCain supporters were crazy facists.

But what the race of Obama did do was finally get a record African-American turnout. That's why the election was a blowout. I think it's great that voting bloc turned out at the polls like that, and I'm thrilled for the next four years,

only 13% of black americans (eligible voters) voted for obama. it was reported on by msnbc (give and take a few points). imho, that is too low but msnbc said that it was up 2-3 percentage points from 4 years ago. and don't forgot that alot of hispanics, college students and white middle class college educated ppl that live in the suburbs voted for him too.

and for the haters who can't believe that mccain lost. everybody put him in the white house, not one segment or ethnic group of america.
