Strictly from an objective point of view. Most blacks support Democrats. They say they'll vote, they might tell a few neighbors or knock on a couple doors but then they NEVER GO VOTE. Statistical fact.
John McCain said it best in his concession speech: "We (specifically while talking about his campaign) inherited the most challenged campaign in recent history". He almost couldn't win just because people always switch Democrat after 8 shitty Republican years. Sarah Palin didn't help, and while the whole terrorist/socialist thing did "fire up the base" it made all the independents think that the McCain supporters were crazy facists.
But what the race of Obama did do was finally get a record African-American turnout. That's why the election was a blowout. I think it's great that voting bloc turned out at the polls like that, and I'm thrilled for the next four years,
