It's the person that Niccolo Machiavelli modeled his book "The Prince" on, Borgia was a cunning, cruel man, very much like the one portrayed in "The Prince". Machiavelli did not truly like Borgia's policies, but he thought that with a ruler like Borgia the Florentines could unite Italy, which was Machiavelli's goal throughout his life.
So basicly Machiavelli was in a way, borgia's teacher, so i look at it like this, I listen to Makaveli all the time and when i write my lyrics im heavaly influenced by Makaveli so it's like Makaveli is my teacher, and so what better name than Cesare Borgia? |
